Horizon - Firewall/NAT Traversal Solution
|
| - End-to-End Connectivity for SIP and H.323 Communications |
Horizon
is an effective solution that securely overcomes firewall and NAT issues in H.323 & SIP based MoIP networks; enables secure connectivity across multiple network boundaries without any security compromise by creating a secure tunnel for audio, video and data streams. It requires no configuration on existing firewalls and NATs.
- Enables end-to-end IP multimedia communication across enterprise
networks in a secure fashion with encryption of signaling
and media.
- Enables Service Providers to offer multimedia conferencing
services to corporate users to communicate with
partners and customers.
Typical deployment of Horizon requires two components, Horizon Server and Client. Horizon Server is typically deployed on DMZ or public network and Horizon Client is deployed within enterprise. Horizon client is a thin client that can either be embedded within H.323/SIP endpoints or act as a sole proxy through which registered endpoints communicate with the external network.

Horizon supports multiple firewall traversal protocols to seamlessly integrate into existing infrustructure: proprietary secure tunneling, STUN/TURN/ICE-based traversal for SIP endpoints and H.460-based traversal for H.323 endpoints.
Multiple traversal protocols are negotiated between Horizon Client and Server to reach the best result for endpoints:
- STUN/TURN/ICE are used to negotiate UDP channels for both signalling and media data.
- H.460.18 and H.460.19 standard-based protocol are used for H.460 competible endpoints.
- Secure proprietary TCP based tunneling for both signalling and media data.
- Ubiquitious proprietary HTTP/HTTPS based tunneling to traverse virtual all firewalls.
